DANCE
The Hong Kong Jockey Club Contemporary Dance Series – Reaching Out
Education Projects

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Contemporary Dance Series (CDS) is a platform aimed at showcasing Hong Kong’s new generation of dancer-choreographers. To promote contemporary dance in the community, the HKAF is organising an extensive series of outreach activities for students that are facilitated by experienced dance educators, including:

Talks@schools - on-campus introductory talks organized prior to the staging of the CDS performances to enhance students’ understanding of and appreciation for contemporary dance.

Workshops@schools - interactive workshops led by local dancers and dance instructors for students to experience contemporary dance through lectures,  demonstrations, and movement exercises.

Open Rehearsals/Performances@theatres - students will attend the open rehearsals and performances of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Contemporary Dance Series in the 2014 Hong Kong Arts Festival. An opportunity for students to gain more in-depth knowledge about what a live dance performance is like and to share their views during the post-performance forum.
